Be aware that current label legislation in Australia demands that the total weight of the contents is declared on the label.
We at Olive's Olives, and some others in our industry, think that is very wrong. If you buy our olives you get the drained weight declared on the label. Not the weight of the total contents including the brine. Be aware that some olive producers proudly display the total weight of the contents on the label. If you need 300g for a recipe you just won't get 300g if you buy a particular brand of Olives. It's legal but...In the future we are going to declare two weights. Drained weight and total weight so that we can comply with the legislation but also give you the consumer the truth about what you are buying.
